Blazing Bourbon Sauce

A combination of tangy and sweet flavors, we served this over Elk meatballs at Eggtoberfest 2019

Ingredients
  

  • 1 14 1/2 oz Tomato Puree canned
  • 3/4 cup Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1/2 cup Your favorite Bourbon We used Six & Twenty Bourbon made in Greenville, South Carolina
  • 1/2 cup Packed dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup Heinz Ketchup Make sure it does NOT contain High-Fructose Corn Syrup
  • 1/4 cup Pure cane syrup You can use molasses
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 3-4 tsps Chili Powder Adust for how ever spicy you want it
  • 3/4 tsp all-spice

Method
 

  1. Place all ingredients in a medium size sauce pan.
  2. Use a whisk to thoroughly combine
  3. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
  4. Once boiling, reduce heat to a simmer and continue to cook for about 10 minutes
  5. Turn off sauce and let it cool, until slightly thickened.
  6. Dip meatballs in sauce and serve.
